Weekend In Training

I spent this weekend at a Juice Plus “Boot Camp” learning how to build up myself and my business. It definitely gets you pumped up and excited about the possibilities! It was at Deer Creek Resort Lodge just south of Columbus, OH and went from Friday evening thru SundDeer Creek 3 800 x 600ay morning. If you had any concerns about the products or the company, you sure don’t by the end of the weekend.  But the added knowledge you get builds your confidence that this is a solid product and company. What it has done for so many people is amazing, and the company management is great! There were more than 150 people there from several states, with trainers from all over as well. It was very enjoyable and enlightening! I even got to enjoy my morning sunrises at their lake! Here's my web site with videos and research information...

Colloidal Silver Update

I had a chance to put the colloidal silver to use this week.

 PICT0032

I over did a bit cleaning up a brush area over a couple of days, and a recurring leg infection started up a the 2nd evening.

Typical symptoms, high fever followed by a rapid swelling and redness of my lower leg. This usually is followed quickly by acute pain when trying to stand and a visit to the emergency room for IV antibiotics.

The last couple of times, however I circumvented this visit by recognizing the infection when the redness started up, and began taking frequent doses of colloidal silver. By the 2nd day the redness decreased and after about 4 days it disappeared. This time I used my home made colloidal silver instead of the off the shelf, and verified that it really works. This is the 3rd day and the redness and soreness is greatly decreased.

It’s good to know that it’s as effective as the expensive stuff, and always available!

I thought I hated yogurt...

Here’s another unlikely topic for me. I always hated yogurt (or thought I did). I acquired a large jar of honey (to replace the evil aspartame sweetners), and wanted something to use it in that was kind of healthy. One of my daughters (Stef) suggested yogurt. I had a lot of honey, so I thought why not see what I could do by making some? I did my research online and found that it wasn’t that hard at all. Basically, you need to (slowly) heat a quart (32 oz) of milk with 1/3 cup of dry milk added for texture to 170 degrees to kill any bad bacteria, and then let it cool to about 115 degrees. I found a handy thermometer at Big Lots for $6 that works great. Then mix in a couple of tablespoons of yogurt as a starter (must have active cultures, such as Stoneybrook). Put this in a very clean glass quart container. Then you have to maintain the 105 – 115 degree temperature for 5 – 6 hours until it begins to solidify. I tried a few things, but I ended up finding that my wooden bread box worked great when I put a little utility light in with a 25W bulb. You just have to experiment until you find a safe heat source that will maintain that temperature range. When it’s done, you can let it cool a bit and put it in smaller plastic storage containers if you want.

It should keep in the fridge about 2 weeks. The odd thing is, when you put in some fruit (blueberries are great!) and a little honey, it is really a great tasting snack. Save a little of the batch as the starter for the next one, and you don’t have to buy any more small containers of yogurt! And it costs about ¼ what it would at the store. Enjoy!

Hello, I'm Steve. I've decided to follow my kid's example and start a blog with my current endeavors. Most people find me quirky. My kids are creative and insightfull. I'm just quirky.

I'm starting with my take on a simple little device that makes a solution called colloidal silver. This is a weak solution of tiny particles of silver that become suspended in distilled water by an electrolytic process. Silver has been used for centuries as a natural antibiotic, at least until pharmaceutical companies found a way to improve (read capitalize) on other ways to kill the bugs. Here's a good overview of silver usage: http://www.all-natural.com/silver-1.html After checking out a lot of devices suggested for generating this solution, I chose the safest route. I'm using a low voltage DC supply (6V). The current is very low, about 300ma, so about any DC supply should work ok. Some people suggest 27-30VDC, but this appears to make much larger particles that are too big to assimilate in the cells, but do get deposited in the tissues (not a good thing). I found some .9999 silver wire on Ebay that works really well. A small aquarium pump with a bubble diffuser adds some CO2 to the solution which helps with the electrolysis. I only leave the device running for about 5 hours. Checking it with a laser beam verifies the particles are present. I do personally feel this is as safe as the products you can purchase at the local health stores. I only make about a cup at a time, and make a new batch every couple of weeks. An ounce of this a day should be sufficient if you feel something coming on or feel you are at risk (swine flu, maybe?) Some people use up to a cup a day, but I can't recommend this as I have no experience at this level. I have had significant positive results using colloidal silver to fight infections, however. That's all for now!
